Pakistan's
weather is split into three distinct seasons. November to March
is winter, which is generally warm, the summer season between
April and July can be very hot and the monsoon season, July to
October, is not only wet but very warm.
Political / Economic Situation
The country alternates between military and civilian government;
however, democratic structures exist and despite problems with
neighbouring India and the border areas with Afghanistan the country is generally stable.
Restrictions
Certain parts of the border with India can be dangerous and
it is best to contact the Pakistan Tourist Development Corporation
or your local embassy for current information.
Airports / Air Access
There are international airports at Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad
(serving Taxila, Rawalpindi and the northern mountains) and Peshawar.
There are domestic flights to Gilgit for the Hunza Valley

All cities and Silk Road sites in Pakistan are well served by
rail and road transport.
