REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER VENEZUELA
Consular jurisdiction applies
to Venezuela visas - This information applies only to US citizens residing in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Special
requirements exist for U.S. Official and Diplomatic
passport holders. Tourist and business visa requirements for regular
U.S. Passport holders follow:
Tourist
Visa
- If travelling
by commercial airline, a tourist card can be obtained at airport
on arrival. If travelling by private transportation or by land,
a visa is required.
- Submit
your valid,
signed U.S. Passport
- 1 Application
form, completed and signed
- 2 Passport-type
photographs (Glasses should not be worn)
- Completed
Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
- Copy of
airline tickets or itinerary
- Certification
of employment, specifying the following: length of employment,
position, salary.
- Bank reference
letter (not a bank statement) verifying opening date, number and
type of account, current balance.
- Submit
your valid,
signed U.S. Passport
- 1 Application
form, completed and signed
- 2 Passport-type
photographs (Glasses should not be worn)
- Completed
Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
- Copy of
airline tickets or itinerary
- A business
letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your
company letterhead and addressed to:
Consulate General of Venezuela, Visa Section, New York, N.Y
The letter must explain all of the following:
- The traveler's
position with the Company
- Purpose
of travel
- Reference
to be visited in Venezuela
- Guarantee
financial support and return transportation to the U.S. for the
applicant.
- The letter
should be signed by a company officer other than the applicant.

The
Venezuela tourist visa is usually issued for a single entry
within 90 days of issue date, for stay of up to 90 days.

The
Venezuela business visa is usually issued for multiple entries
within one year of issue date, provided the passport remains
valid, for stay of up to 90 days each entry.

All
persons holding a business visa must obtain an income declaration
(Declaracion de Rentas) from the Ministry of Finance (Ministerio
de Hacienda) in Caracas. It will be required at time of
departure from Venezuela.

Passport
must have at least six months remaining validity and contain
at least one blank visa page for visa to be issued. TDS
can assist with obtaining U.S.
Passports, whether new issue, renewal, or obtaining
additional visa pages for a valid passport.
